A COLLECTION OF PAINTINGS, CELEBRATING CONNECTION BETWEEN FAMILIAR AND THE TREASURED.
I created this mixed media painting collection during the lockdown questioning what I valued most in my life. The quarantine helped me realise how much I just needed to sit down and be in the present. This mindfulness helped me acknowledge the mundane things as light passing through the washing liquid or paying attention to the fabric folds as my son enjoyed his sleep. Each fold in the fabric has its own story to tell, we just need to be present to acknowledge many other stories spellbindingly appearing alongside us.

A pattern clash, I love how the plaid and the stripe are in play here. A minimal yet very vibrant painting.
Summer Nap piece emotionally evokes the time when i try to imagine how it would had been if my dear mom had a chance to spend time with my son.The blue fabric pattern is from her scarf lying next to my son on a hot summer afternoon.
"A sleeping child gives me the impression of a traveler in a very far country." Ralph Waldo Emerson In this case maybe travels to an extinct world. I love how in his world dinosaurs can be pirates, shopkeepers or just very scary frog eating monsters. For me painting this pattern was joyous and most fun, as the colours bring the happiness of him being all wrapped up.
Deep ultramarine, cobalt and periwinkle blues with hints of forest green, rose pink and yellow. This piece is inspired by my memory of the beautiful cold morning when the sun came shining in, peeking through the pine trees outside the big windows on to our comfy bed.
All the times we have tried to put duvet to be on top of little human, it always ends up under him. I love the calmness of this painting, though the words are bold and big, positioned quite well, its quite a serene moment. Early morning listening to bird song and being grateful for a good night's sleep.
The little things? The little moments? They aren’t little. -Jon Kabat-Zinn The randomness of this moment is what makes it perfect for me. I couldnt have planned the placement of stripes better even if i tried staging it for a painting. A mix of dry pastels and oile pastels add to the texture effect of this painting.
